This is a motor control demonstration project, built by a UMass Lowell student. The goal was to produce a working, demonstration of motor control, preferably something interesting or artistic. A Gamatronix Gamoto motor controller that I designed was used to control the motor, and a Handy Cricket was used to manage the Gamoto.
The horizontal bar has a pendulum attached to it, swinging free from the center. Attached to the rotating pulley-driven shaft is a v-shaped pair of arms that rotate around and strike the pendulum at different intervals. The result is a bouncing pendulum that sometimes makes it over the top. The speed and frequency parameters can be adjusted by the potentiometers in the lower right corner.
